## How it works

Fictional sports establish readable spatial rules and scoring conditions, then combine them with unusual movement.

## Variants

### Mechanic variants

- New environments change ordinary ball paths.
- Multiple goals redistribute defensive coverage.
- Role changes alter permitted interactions.
- Special resources provide limited pattern-breaking actions.

## Design example

A low-gravity game passes a ball between three goals mounted on different surfaces.

Prototype check: Test initial rule comprehension without knowledge of a real sport and counterplay to a dominant tactic.

## Context and limits

Sports mechanics connect execution precision to space, participant state and understandable scoring conditions. Each overview separates player actions, state changes and alternative rules. Examples are hypothetical design scenarios, not claims about a named game. A prototype check states an observable question for the next iteration. Existing detailed references remain separately linked from the direction map.
