1. The runner moves along a marked stadium lane

- Explain how start, rhythm and effort timing affect the measured result.

- [Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 – The Official Video Game™](https://store.steampowered.com/app/981890/)

## How it works

Performance events evaluate time, distance or height, connecting preparation to a precise effort moment.

## Variants

### Mechanic variants

- Starts test reactions to an authorization cue.
- Pacing distributes effort across the distance.
- Takeoff uses a limited valid launch zone.
- Attempts allow adjusting preparation from results.

## Design example

An athlete chooses a steadier approach and sacrifices some speed for precise takeoff.

Prototype check: Test dependence on input frequency so success is not determined solely by repeated button-press speed.

## Context and limits

Sports mechanics connect execution precision to space, participant state and understandable scoring conditions. Each overview separates player actions, state changes and alternative rules. Examples are hypothetical design scenarios, not claims about a named game. A prototype check states an observable question for the next iteration. Existing detailed references remain separately linked from the direction map.
