1. Modules require exchanging precise information

- Make knowledge exchange necessary and give everyone a meaningful role.

- [Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes](https://store.steampowered.com/app/341800/)

## How it works

Participants study different parts of a topic and combine their knowledge for a shared task.

## Variants

### Variants

<a id="distributed-expertise-variants"></a>

- Distribute different materials among participants <a id="distributed-expertise-1"></a>
- Prepare a short explanation of one’s part <a id="distributed-expertise-2"></a>
- Teach a rule to a partner through an example <a id="distributed-expertise-3"></a>
- Check understanding with a question rather than verbatim repetition <a id="distributed-expertise-4"></a>
- Combine information from different specialists <a id="distributed-expertise-5"></a>
- Swap areas of responsibility in the next round <a id="distributed-expertise-6"></a>
- Find a gap in the group’s explanation <a id="distributed-expertise-7"></a>
- Solve a task independently after a group discussion <a id="distributed-expertise-8"></a>

## Design example

Hypothetical expedition: each participant studies one sensor type and teaches the others before a shared mission.

## Context and limits

A mechanic map for games with explicit learning goals, from first encounters with a topic to professional practice. It covers children, teenagers and adults; choose subject, difficulty, context and controls for the learner. Player actions, subject content, instructional support and assessment are distinct layers. Scores and game completion alone do not establish mastery or skill transfer.
