The player combines compatible appearance options and previews the result. Constraints help preserve identity and a readable silhouette.

1. Appearance categories
2. Preview of the chosen appearance

- Keep the chosen look when switching categories.
- Allow comparison with the current look before purchase or confirmation.

## How it works

Appearance editors combine parameters, items and compatibility rules to express a chosen character identity.

## Variants

### Mechanic variants

- Parameters change shape without changing function.
- Clothing layers interact with other layers.
- Palettes preserve a consistent set of colors.
- Presets restore a saved appearance.

## Design example

A player creates an explorer's look by changing clothing silhouette and palette independently of combat stats.

Prototype check: Test extreme body and clothing combinations, saved appearances and absence of hidden gameplay advantages.

## Context and limits

Creative mechanics constrain shape, connections and appearance while preserving the player’s choice of a personal result. Each overview separates player actions, state changes and alternative rules. Examples are hypothetical design scenarios, not claims about a named game. A prototype check states an observable question for the next iteration. Existing detailed references remain separately linked from the direction map.
