1. Parts are connected into a working machine
2. The parts palette defines available building elements

- Allow a single assembly to be tested before running the whole construction.

## How it works

Parts form a construction whose behavior emerges from joints, motion transmission and power sources.

## Variants

### Mechanic variants

- Hinges leave one permitted rotation axis.
- Gears transmit rotation at a specified ratio.
- Actuators apply force within a limited mode.
- Loads test the assembled mechanism's usefulness.

## Design example

A modular bridge rises through a geared motor, with opening speed determined by the ratio.

Prototype check: Test closed connections and anchored parts so conflicting constraints cannot generate energy.

## Context and limits

Creative mechanics constrain shape, connections and appearance while preserving the player’s choice of a personal result. Each overview separates player actions, state changes and alternative rules. Examples are hypothetical design scenarios, not claims about a named game. A prototype check states an observable question for the next iteration. Existing detailed references remain separately linked from the direction map.
